Placing trades

The order ticket, market, limit and stop orders, and stop and target brackets.

The order ticket is a floating pill on the chart. Drag it by the grip, hide it with the close button and bring it back with the eye button in the toolbar.

Order types

  • Market fills at the current replay price when you press Buy or Sell.
  • Limit rests at a price you enter until a bar reaches it.
  • Stop rests at a price you enter and fires when a bar trades through it.

Choosing Limit or Stop fills the price field with the current price rounded to the market's tick. Edit it, then press Buy or Sell to place the resting order. Quantity is a whole number from 1 to 100, and the ticket remembers your last value.

Orders from the price scale

Hover the chart and a plus button appears on the price scale at the crosshair price. Pressing it offers the two orders that make sense at that price: below the market a buy limit or a sell stop, above it a sell limit or a buy stop.

Stops and targets

With a position open, the SL and TP buttons on the ticket add or remove a stop loss and a take profit. Default distances differ by market, so a stop on NQ is 20 points with a 40 point target, while ES uses 5 and 10.
