The Indicator Lab turns a plain description of a setup into Pine Script v6. You say what you want to see on the chart, the Lab writes the script, checks that it compiles, and hands it back as a card you can copy, download, save or open in the Backtester.
Open it from the Indicator Lab item in the left rail of QuantLab HQ. The page has a composer at the top and, below it, your saved indicators on the left with house picks and community studies on the right.
Your first build
- Pick a market and a timeframe next to the composer. The Lab offers NQ, ES, YM, RTY, CL and GC, on 1m, 5m, 15m, 1h, 4h and 1D.
- Describe the setup in the box. Name the trigger and say where the idea is invalidated. The starter chips under the box fill it with a worked example if you would rather edit than write.
- Press Generate. The Lab shows what it is doing while it works. When the first build finishes, it is saved and the page moves into the build workspace, with your thread on the left and a chart on the right.
- Press Save to keep it. A saved build gets a version number and appears in Your indicators.
Generated code can contain errors. Check every build on a chart before you rely on it.
