The Backtester draws on QuantLab's own chart engine, with a toolbar and dialogs laid out the way traders expect from other charting platforms. Everything below works during a replay, and your drawings stay on the chart as the cursor moves.
Around the chart
- The drawing toolbar on the left edge holds the drawing tools, with a favorites bar for the ones you use most.
- The header holds the symbol search, interval menu, chart type menu, Indicators, Replay, alerts, layouts and chart settings.
- The widget bar on the right opens panels such as the watchlist and the object tree.
- Chart settings is a dialog with hex and opacity color pickers.
Bottom dock
The dock under the chart has tabs for Strategy Tester, Orders, Positions and Trades. While a replay runs, a Replay Trading tab joins them and lists the trades you take in that replay.
What the terminal remembers
- The order ticket position and quantity.
- The replay update interval.
- Your chart theme, which follows the QuantLab theme toggle.
